UMB goes hi-tech; launches Speed App to improve customer banking experience

Universal Merchant Bank (UMB), one of Ghana’s leading indigenous banks in the country has introduced a mobile application (UMB Speed App) aimed at offering every customer convenience and improved banking experience.
Dubbed “UMB Speed App” the new app can boast of exciting features and tools to improve banking experience and offers every customer on-the-go access to their finances all from the comfort of their mobile phones.
Speaking at the launch of the product, CEO of UMB, Mr. John Awuah expressed confidence about the new app, saying “it will help ameliorate the kind of hustle customers goes through in accessing financial problems”.
“I’m happy to reiterate that the mobile banking application will bring banking to your fingertips like UMB bank in the power of your hands”, he stressed.
While explaining the importance of the app, Mr. John Awuah said, “think of a world where you do not have to walk into a bank and still have your peace of mind knowing that you still have full access and control of your bank account and wallet, and that’s UMB Speed App for you”.
According to him, both customers and non-customers can make use of the app at their own conveniences to effect airtime top ups, mobile money services, bills payments, micro savings and a whole lot more exciting features embedded on it.
The UMB Speed App can boast of key features including check account balances, check transaction history, airtime top up for self and others, bill payment services, request services, funds transfer services, loan services, investment services, standing order services, card services and many more.
Head of Channels of the UMB Bank, Mr. Amos Hagan who demonstrated the new app commended the implementation team for the innovation, adding, “It was not easy to conceive, develop and implement the task”…. “It took a lot of research, colleagues travelling out of the shores of this country, it took shrewdness and it took talent, above all, it took sheer will power to make this happen”.
While urging customers to take advantage of the usefulness of the app by visiting the app/play store to have it download on their mobile devices for use, Mr. Hagan described the app as “simply amazing and speed indeed, making banking easy at the comfort of homes, offices, markets or wherever one finds his or herself.
