Gov’t Urged To Help Create Employment Opportunities For Nurses

Gov’t has been urged to as a matter of urgency intervene to create employment opportunities to relieve the plight of the numerous frustrated nurses and midwives in the country that could not get job after successful completion of studies. Trainee nurses and midwives are currently battling with Government over unemployment issues two years after completion of studies which has become a huge challenge in Ghana. Pres. GAHTI Organises Clean-up, Donates To Pantang Mental Hospital

The Greater Accra zone of the Ghana Association of Health Training Institutions (GAHTI) has presented assorted items to support the inmates of the Pantang Mental Hospital. Items donated included 2 bags of rice, 15 bags of sachet mineral water, packs of toothpaste, toilet rolls, detergents, secondhand clothes, shoes and bags amongst others. According to Obed Asare Bediako, Gt. Accra Zonal President of the Ghana Association of Health Training Institutions (GAHTI), the donation forms part of activities to mark the association’s sixteen years anniversary. The donation targeted 3 specific wards of the hospital which comprises of 11; a female ward and the other two which are 12 and 13 respectively male wards. “It equally seeks to create awareness on GAHTI’s week celebration scheduled to take place in April, 16th -24 th on the theme: “The role of health trainees in the prevention of breast cancer”, Pres.
