The Mass Social Welfare Scheme (MSWS): a must to save Ghanaians from abject poverty

The President of the Mass Social Welfare Scheme (MSWS) Ghana, De-Ben Selassie Elikplim has revealed that unless a conscious war is waged by the afflicted individuals and responsible people who control the world’s strategic resources, poverty will only remain a socioeconomic weapon of mass destruction. He equally charged his staff members to collaborate effort work assiduously towards effective implementation of the scheme, disclosing this during a staff meeting in Accra yesterday. The Mass Social Welfare Scheme which is aimed at providing valuable structured welfare needs to its members through affordable housing, educational grants, and the provision of capital to help set up new businesses was launched in April, this year  to help alleviate poverty by offering financial help to the poor and vulnerable citizens of Ghana and throughout Africa. Ghana to host two significant events of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU)

Ghana has received an overwhelming endorsement as a host for the World Telecommunication Development Conference to be held in the year 2014. Honourable Dr Kofi Omane Boamah, minister for communication disclosed this to the press during a meeting in Accra to launch the ITU Regional Development Forum and Africa Regional preparatory meeting for the world communication development conference. The world telecommunication development conference is organized every four years by the international telecommunication union(ITU) to identify priorities for the development of telecommunications and Information Communication Technologies taking into account contributions made by Member States and Sector Members, with an Action Plan, setting the future of activities of the ITU Telecommunication Development Sector (ITU-D) over the next four-year period.
