Airtel partners expressPay to facilitate direct purchase of data bundles via internet

Airtel, the Smartphone Network and expressPay, Ghana’s leading innovative electronic payments platform have announced a partnership that enables Airtel customers to directly purchase data bundles through the expressPay app. The solution offers Airtel customers a seamless way to purchase data bundles anywhere, anytime through  expressPay’s app or website using their Airtel Money wallets, Visa, MasterCard and GH-Link cards instantly. This partnership adds to the channels available to customers on the Smartphone Network to purchase bundles and make payments for goods and services. Professional journalists working in the media have been asked to kick out charlatans who go around town including events grounds parading themselves as journalists to extort money from people. “If you go to an event and you see non-journalists who are just there for “Soli”, I think you should kick them out. At the Press Centre, we kick some of these people out. So those of us who call ourselves journalists, whenever we see these people who are trying to occupy our space and mess up we should kick them out,” she stressed. CPA to sue health ministry over ‘unapproved’ toilet levies in public hospitals

The Consumer Protection Agency (CPA) has dared to sue the Ministry of Health if it has failed to halt management of the Korlebu Teaching Hospital including other public hospitals in the country from wanton collection of ‘unproved levies’ from patients upon use of toilet facility in hospitals. Kofi Kapito, CEO OF CPA The Agency has therefore given a -21-day ultimatum period to the newly administration of the Ministry of Health to see to the closure of the “illegal act”.  This follows an attempt by the CPA to stop the Ministry of Health from allowing the Korlebu Teaching Hospital including some government hospitals in the country from charging a sum of GH₵ 50 pesewas from patients as a toilet fees. According to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Consumer Protection Agency, Kofi Kapito, the move has become necessary despite every effort to reach the authorities to put a stop to the ‘dastard act’ which has crippled many patients including pregnant women since last ye
