Deputy Director of Public Sector Reform Secretariat (PSRS), Mr. Pethuel Danyo has charged Journalists in the country to dedicate their time to monitor and focus more attention and excessively report on issues of open governance rather than just limiting themselves to covering and reporting on events.   According to him,although the media has a major role to play in monitoring and promoting issues of open governance among others which goes a long way to advance the country, its practitioners have limited its powers only on covering events which he believes it’s about time that old habit dies.   “I think it’s about time the media undergoes a paradigm shift from just covering events and be focused on monitoring, debating and giving full attention and bringing to the fore issues of open governance and actively report on them to whip up citizens interest in the matters and to hold government accountable in every way possible”.
