The Greater Accra Region Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Anthony Nukpenu has condemned the 57 Volta Region chiefs, who recently declared support for the 2016 presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo, saying they lack respect and dignity among their own people. According to him, “they should not be taken serious”. His comment was made in an interview following the massive endorsement given to the NPP flagbearer by some chiefs in NDC’s stronghold after he paid a courtesy call on the Paramount Chief of Nkwanta Akyode Traditional Area, Nana Obonbo Sewura Lipuwura, on Wednesday, October 26 2016. Stakeholders in the health sector of the country have been urged to whip up interest and raise public awareness on blindness and vision impairment which have become major threat to humans globally as Ghana joined the world to mark the 2016 World Sight Day.
