MTN,Jumia Search for Entrepreneurs in Ghana and across Africa reaches crescendo
Jumia Ghana, in partnership with MTN, MTN Solution Space screened 10 shortlisted teams at a live pitch event which took place at the MTN head office on April 8th 2016. PRINCE KWAKYE The 10 teams ; UniApp, KwikAuto-Care Group, SchoolFees, Chalkboard Education, Hovver, Medrx Limited, Diggibonds, eCampus LLC, Leran Delivery Service, eNow were shortlisted from 85 received applications in Ghana. The teams did a live pitch before 3 judges: Funlola Abe, MD, Jumia Ghana, Liticia Browne, Investor Relations Manager of Ghana Angel Investor Network and William Senyo, Co-Founder of Impact Hub Accra who guided the teams through the live pitches as well as providing feedback where necessary. Speaking to the media after the live pitch, the marketing manager for Jumia Ghana, Mr. Prince Kwakye stated that the challenge is aimed at promoting and encouraging youth in entrepreneurship and help reduce the high rate of unemployment in Ghana.
