Finance Ministry pledges full support for Ghana’s PPPs agenda

The Ministry of Finance has assured Ghanaians of its readiness to assist in any way possible towards the full implementation and realization of a successful Public Private Partnership program in Ghana. Deputy Minister of Finance, Mona Quartey made the remark at a PPP sensitization forum for Civil Society Organizations on Wednesday. According to her, government is ready to support any project that will bring result under a Public Private Partnership program. The forum which formed part of series of sensitization fora and workshops being held across the country for stakeholders was organized by the Ministry of Finance through its Public Investment Division. It was aimed at creating awareness, improve knowledge and understanding on PPPs and attract advocacy for PPPs at the national level. WiLDAF calls for media support as Ghana marks World Rural Women’s Day

Women in Law and Development in Africa (WiLDAF-Ghana) has called on the media to join the fight for justice and strongly advocate for the  rights of rural women in land acquisition as Ghana joins the world to mark the World Rural Women’s Day on Thursday.   Lois Adoamoah-Addo, Program Officer for WiLDAF-Ghana, made the call at a media soiree in Accra on Monday to commemorate the Day   on October 15, 2015. The event was aimed at drawing the attention of the media to the plights of vulnerable rural women in the society when it comes to issues of the acquisition of land. It also sought to solicit the support of the media to help dedicate their energy and time in educating the public on the law pertaining to land acquisition as well as impress upon policy makers to consider rural women into formulation of policies regarding land acquisition amongst others, she says. 350 G-ROC partner Concern Health Education Ghana to Sensitize students on Climate Change

350 Ghana-Reducing our Carbon (G-ROC), an NGO spearheading the Climate Change campaign in Ghana has partnered with Concern Health Education Ghana to sensitize over 200 students on the harmful effects of climate change. The move seeks to offer sustainable solutions to tackle the effects of climate change in Ghana. The students were drawn from six (6) senior high schools and a Junior High Schools located in the La Dade-Kotopon District Assembly of the Greater Accra Region. Ezekiel Chibeze, Coordinator of 350 Ghana Reducing our Carbon (G-ROC) in an interview with the media disclosed the event form part of the global campaign (action 2015) to fight climate change. He maintained similar events are equally underway in over 20 countries across the world to hold government accountable to the pledges they make towards reversing the devastating trends of the climate change. It is also being organized to build up towards the United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP21
