Multichoice Ghana commissions new ultramodern head office in Accra

The Board Chairman of Multichoice Ghana, Mr. Richard Darko has reiterated the company’s commitment to always continue to support the country in its quest to attain greater heights as far as economic growth is concerned.
He said, “MultiChoice and Gotv Ghana Limited, will continue to support Ghana’s efforts to achieve greater heights with our contributions to economic growth – through video entertainment services and production, through tax revenue growth and through enhanced job creation and various sectors.”
“Our mission is to deliver value to our customers by making world-class entertainment more accessible with the right content mix delivered to millions of people across Ghana anytime, anywhere,” he said.
Mr. Darko gave the assurance while delivering a speech at a ceremony to commission MultiChoice’s new ultra-modern head office in Accra.
The ultramodern office complex is designed to provide ultimate customer experience as it features various offices to make business transactions more convenient.
The new building which hosts a total of 142 staff from Ghana and West African regional operations is located at No. 8 Basko Lane, Off George Walker Bush Highway, Abelenkpe.
According to Mr. Darko, the new edifice is uniquely designed with modern technology features to guarantee ultimate customer convenience and comfort, positioning the company and its staffs aptly as well to continue to deliver to meet customer satisfaction at all times.
The new office complex, wholly designed by a Ghanaian architect has easy accessibility, ample parking space, a customer experiential zone for new products and services as well as a Q-matic system to manage and schedule customer waiting time.
It also boast of a warehouse, a decoder repair center, a call center, state of the art conference and training rooms as well as a canteen and a fully-equipped gym.
Speaking at the event, the Deputy Minister of Communication, George Andah commended MultiChoice Ghana for the pioneering role it has played in investing in the digital satellite and terrestrial broadcast space for over 24 years.
“Your invaluable contribution to the setting of high broadcast standards cannot be over emphasized and deserves high commendation”.
He also congratulated Multichoice Ghana for adding 10 Ghanaian channels onto DStv and GOtv service in recent time which offers the opportunity for other nations within African community to experience firsthand the rich Ghanaian culture through television.
Mr. Andah also reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to continue to work closely with all the industry players to put in place the necessary framework for smooth migration onto the digital platform, adding
“we believe this platform will create job opportunities in the broadcast industry.”
For his part, The Managing Director of Multichoice Ghana, Mr. Cecil Sunkwa Mills commended the Communication Ministry for their support which has enabled “our video entertainment industry to develop a reliable world class service across Ghana with other partners”.
He also expressed thanks to all other business partners including banks and telcos for their unflinching support in their delivery of services to meet customer demand and satisfaction.
MultiChoice Ghana was first incorporated as Hitech Vision Limited, and in 1993 was established as a joint venture between MultiChoice Africa, Richard Darko, Bryan Harris, Louis Casely-Hayford and Ardeley Investments.
In its quest to offer subscribers in Ghana high quality, locally tailored entertainment at all times, Multichoice Ghana has introduced Digital Satellite Television (DStv) in 1995 off the heels of Naspers’ subsidiary company Multichoice Africa’s M-Net channel.
Proud of its reputation for being an African product, firmly rooted in the continent’s success, Dstv platform today carries and maintains the uplink of 10 premium Ghanaian channels of which 2 are across Africa, with an investment of over $1 million. These are GTV, TV3, UTV, GhOne, Metro TV, Joy News, Adom TV, Joy Prime, TV Africa, and the 100% Ghana music TV station, Fiesta GH.
Multichoice Ghana later launched the GOtv business in January 2013, being the first Digital Terrestrial Version 2 television service in Ghana. Established with 12 sites in 9 cities in 7 regions, has in the last four years progressed form a challenging beginning due to last power crisis into good growth in 2017.
GOtv has brought affordable world class digital terrestrial television to thousands of homes across Ghana and will continue to do so based on based on a successful digital migration process in our country.
