Love Is Not Enough: A powerful book that guides people into successful marriage launched

A renowned marriage counsellor, Nana Ebo Koomson has cautioned the youth against rushing into marriage simply because they are moved by certain feelings within their body towards the opposite sex without first conducting a critical study to see if the he/she is the right person before going ahead to marry.

“You shouldn’t rush into marriage just because you have a string in the heart touching that you should marry the person, don’t go, study before you go into it”, he stressed.

Mr.  Koomson gave the advice whiles speaking at the launch of a book titled “Love is not enough when choosing whom to marry”. The book launch took place at the Amu Theatre of University of Education Winneba, Central Region on Saturday November 25, 2017.

“Love is not enough” is a 266 page book that teaches and enlightens readers on preparations, offering practical steps to be taken when one wants to choose a marriage partner.

Author of the book, Mr. David Kofi Awusi said his inspiration to come out with the book emanates from his mistakes to choose a lady based upon the feeling of love which did not work which had left him completely brokenhearted after which he got rebuked by God for putting him aside in his decision making.

“Before I got married, I struggled a lot.  I was in a relationship using worldly principles, circular ideas and I left God completely out of it and that was the point where I was broken hearted.”

“I couldn’t eat, I couldn’t drink. I was unproductive of my job and as I went off to listen to myself, I’ve heard a voice telling me, “did you ask of me before you chose the one to marry?.  Then I realized suddenly that I didn’t took my time, though I was a born again Christian filled with the Holy Spirit, yet I never bring God in when choosing people to marry,” the author revealed.

David Kofi Awusi, popularly known as “Sir David” revealed after accepting his mistake, God gave him three wisdom and commanded him to put it into a book to educate people on the right path that leads to successful marriage.

In an interview, he explained: “The Lord said unto me, in choosing whom to marry the first thing is to seek the will of God since marriage is God’s idea and he is the best person to direct us on how to make it work. The second thing is to check out for compatibility (Amos 3:3), to see whether you blend with your partner in terms of character, personality, purpose, vision, faith, value systems and others  before building love.

Sir David who also doubles as an entrepreneur, mentor and advocate making a great difference in life described his latest handiwork as having the magic wand to deal with the cure for broken heart, vaccine against immunization for relationship break-ups, wisdom for heaven-on-earth marriage and urged people to patronize the book and apply its wisdom to their advantage especially the young ones who are aiming to enter in to marriage.

Being a strong advocate for all forms of modern slavery against humans and a prolific writer, Sir David can already boast of two publications to his credit.

Highly committed to produce more books on different topics in the near future, Sir David noted he’ll leave no stone unturned to educate the youth on their rights and privileges in life so as not to be mislead into acts of wrongdoing that will mar their future.

Reviewing the book at the launch, Nana Ebo Koomson describe the book as one of the most reliable modern books that offers in-depth knowledge on marriage.

He therefore recommends it to both marriage counselors including the upcoming youth who are on the verge of choosing whom to marry.

According to him, the book is encapsulated with rich knowledge that goes beyond teaching people not to be touched by the lustful aspect of love to even explain the element of love which should not be the basis of choosing one’s partner for life.

It also highlighted other ingredients which are necessary requirements for successful marriage to thrive which largely informed the decision for the chosen title.

“It enlightens, explores various stages involved in marriage, delves into how you can detect  if you are compatible with your partner or not,  teaches how one can control his/her emotions including getting help from your spouse to achieve your desire in life” he added.

Nana Ebo Koomson, who has over 20 years working experience as a marriage counsellor attributed the cause of many divorced marriages these days to  a number of factors including making the wrong choices, people being forced into marriages by their parents whiles others focusing beauty or physical body shapes, material gains and status.

Meanwhile, the Resident Pastor of Triumph Bible Church, Winneba, Rev. Alexander Larsey Wilson has admonished the youth to cultivate the habit of reading always and apply the wisdom they’ve acquired from books to become wise.

According to him, a lot of  youth are perishing in their businesses, education and marriages these days due to their inability to read books therefore lack knowledge.
“Books gives us information, it doesn’t makes us wise, but applying what we read makes you wise, so you don’t just read for reading sake, you must be able to apply what you read” he stressed.

The book is available and can be purchased within various bookshops across the country including  the EPP bookshop, Challenge bookshop, Presby bookshop, Methodist bookshop, Step-To-Christ bookshop, Total Fuel Station and office of Kwame Awusi & Associates.
