Enactus UG set to represent Ghana in upcoming world cup event in Canada

The reigning champions of  Enactus Ghana national competition, University of Ghana team (UG) is set to represent Ghana in this year’s Enactus World Cup event slated for 28-30th September, 2016 in Toronto, Canada.


The 2016 World Cup tournament, According to the Country Director of Enactus Ghana, Baba Sayuti seeks to bring together an international network of students, academic and business leaders to showcase how Enactus teams around the world are enabling progress through entrepreneurial action.


Aside the competition, events such as the culture fair provide an exhibition of the rich diversity of cultures represented within Enactus. There will also be multiple receptions, lunches and dinners, along with special activities such as the Top to Top and Top to Future-Top Forums, as well as panel discussions,  and other sessions to provide engagement and collaboration opportunities for participants.

Enactus University of Ghana team was adjudged the national champion in the Enactus Ghana national competition in July 6, 2016 after demonstrating a highly impressive performance in a 2-day competition convincing over 40 judges with the “Hope for Future and Mush-life” Project. The project sought to reduce unemployment among individuals with physical disabilities.  
The judges had a challenging task selecting the 2016 National Champion team out of the 10 participating teams including University of Ghana Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, (KNUST) Radford University College, University for Development Studies, (UDS) Valley View University, (VVU) University of Applied Management, Ghana Institute of Management Studies, (GIMPA) All Nations University, University of Energy and Natural Resources, and Central University College.


The team from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology won the second position with the “BidiGreen” Project which trained and empowered 10 women to start a smokeless briquette business whiles Radford University was adjudged 3rd place winner with its Mosaic Inspiration and Tyre Recycling project which sought to improve the living standards and quality of life of vulcanizers’ in Accra by transforming plastic waste and old car.
