ECG LAUNCHES ONE -DAY-SERVICE CONNNECTION INNOVATION PROJECT








 In efforts to step up towards delivery of prompt service to meet customer demands and satisfaction in terms of constant power supply, the Achimota District Branch of ECG has launched a project dubbed the One-Day-Service Connection Innovation in Accra last Friday 17th January, 2014 at the Achimota district branch of ECG.


The initiative which is now being implemented throughout the company was conceived and piloted by the Achimota District branch of the ECG.

Speaking during the launching of the project, Managing Director of ECG, Ing. William Hutton Mensah disclosed the major positive effect of this innovation is that it will help eliminate customer apprehensions and frustrations in getting electricity service connection, this he believes will in turn lead to reduction of illegal connections.

According to him the innovation has a number of benefits dedicated to valued customers and also to the company as a whole. He lauded  the efforts of the District Manager, Mr. Seth Dekpor and the all the hardworking employees of the Achimota District branch of the Company for their commitment and dedication towards making the One-Day-Service Connection Innovation Project a reality.

In his speech he noted ECG is conscious of meeting customer service obligations, citing
ECG has reduced the five working days benchmark set up by the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission of Ghana to just one working day of service in reaching the customer with power supply.

“I am happy to announce that ECG now connects electricity supply to customers’ premises within one working day of their payment of the relevant service connection fees, thus exceeding the PURC benchmark of five (5) working days. This achievement shows our commitment to exceed the expectations of our customers, regulators and stakeholders” he added.

He urged customers to pay their bills fully and regularly to enable ECG raise the much needed revenue to invest in strategic capital projects which will improve the distribution network for he benefit of customers.

As a token of appreciation and effort to inspire other districts and employees   to also work harder and come out with more innovative ideas in the future, management of ECG has rewarded the Achimota District of the Company with a brand new four by four(4x4) Nissan pick-up.

In a brief ceremony, which saw the presentation of the vehicle was handed over to the Mr Seth Dekpor the District Manager on behalf of the entire Achimota District branch of ECG.

The One-Day-Service Connection innovation is a big achievement and a source of pride for the entire ECG.
