Make use of religion to fight corruption-First Sky Group boss told Ghanaians

Mr. Eric Seddy Kutortse, Chairman of First Sky Group of Companies

The Chairman of First Sky Group, a Ghanaian owned company engaged in construction, commodities and hospitality, Eric Seddy Kutortse has charged all Ghanaians in the country to make use of the word of God and religion as a tool fight corruption.
According to him, the fight against corruption appears to be an arduous task, “since our laws and institutions are not helping us therefore the only way out is to seek the face of God”.
“My suggestion is that if it goes beyond human wisdom, understanding and whichever level we cannot control, then we have to seek the face of God” he advised.
The First Sky Group boss made the suggestion at the thanksgiving service to mark the company’s 15th Anniversary held at the Accra International Conference Centre on Sunday, January 14, 2018.
Corruption is a deadly canker in Ghana which has permeated every facet of the economy making it difficult for the country to meet its developmental goals since it’s a drain on the public purse as well as individual citizens.
But explaining in an interview with GhanaNewsOne.com why the menace should not be a threat to Ghanaians, Mr. Eric Seddy Kutortse wondered why out of about 27 million population of which the majority of 72.1 percent representing Christians should not be termed a corrupt nation if Ghanaians are truly committed to obeying the scriptures of God in the Holy Bible.
“Our population stands at 27 million with Christians alone made up of 71.2 percent and so if we have the fear of God in us and we abide by his words in the Holy Bible and the 71.2 percent says they’ll not involve themselves in corruption, then corruption is already eliminated by 71.2 percent”.
He further said, “both the Islamic religion, the holy bible teaches against stealing and if our Moslem brothers and sisters also abide by such scriptures, and if they also respect the teachings of the Holy Quran and follow its orders strictly, corruption is likely to be eliminated because these two religions constituted about 96 percent of the entire population”.
