Iran Clinic moves to improve healthcare service delivery in Ghana



As part of efforts to improve healthcare delivery in the country, Iran Clinic, a non-governmental Organization (NGO) providing quality healthcare services to Ghanaians at very affordable rate, is adding a number of new specialist services to alleviate the plight of the vulnerable in the society.

The move according to the Assistant Medical Director of Iran Clinic, Dr. Lisa Hayibor, forms part of the mission of the Iranian Red Crescent to relieve the plights of the vulnerable in the society.

It also seeks to offer Ghanaians the access and convenience to accelerated quality healthcare service delivery under a one-stop health facility at reduced rate.

The gesture is equally geared towards complementing government’s effort of improving healthcare delivery in the country, she maintained.

Dr. Hayibor made the disclosure in an exclusive interview with journalists on Tuesday in Accra at the Iran Clinic which is now located at Adabraka.

Iran Clinic has been in existence in Ghana for over 20 years providing healthcare services which include general consultation, recovery unit, laboratory, pharmacy, ambulance services, ultrasonography, dental clinic, physiotherapy, eye clinic and gynaecology.

Currently undergoing a major transformation in terms of infrastructure and healthcare service delivery in the country, medical assistant director, Lisa Hayibor explains “with the new development, the clinic is adding a specialist clinics services including paediatrics, ear, nose, throat and urology”.

It is also bringing on board a number of new specialists within the next 3 months in the capacity physicians, dermatologists and surgeons to assist other specialists to be able to improve upon the quality service delivery and expand the treatment of variety of diseases.

Iran clinic also has a fully equipped surgical theatre which will be operational within the next few weeks, including the radiology unit which is also being renovated and will be functioning within the next few months, she hinted.

Dr. Hayibor said: “The clinic will also soon begin performing simple surgical operations which the public can access at a subsidized cost, taking into considering the plight of the underprivileged in the society”.
“Also, Iran clinic has a fully equipped surgical theatre which will be operational within the next few weeks.” she added.
