BEWARE OF ANIMAL PRODUCTS CONSUMPTION-DR ASARE WARNS




The president of the vegetarian Association of Ghana, Dr Kofi Asare has cautioned the public to desist from consumption of milk, meat, sausages, chicken and other animal products.
This he said will help prevent cardiovascular disease like cancer, stroke diabetics and others. He suggests the consumption of plant based foods like fruits and vegetables diet as the only way to achieve a healthy lifestyle.
He made this remark during the 8th Annual Vegetarian Celebration and the Launch of the 42nd International Vegetarian Union world Vegefest in Ghana at the Civil Servants Hall in Accra.
According to him milk, contains a chemical called Casein; a glue-like substance which causes Asthma.
He equally condemns the patronage of bread describing bread as not good for consumption because it contains a substance called gluten which sticks on human intestines causing it damaged.
He advised eating of a non-cooked foods like fruits (banana,pineapple,mango oranges etc)  in the morning as breakfast  after exercising the body instead of taking tea and break is the best diet to keep the human body strong and healthy.
The 8th Annual week celebration week which was marked for two days dignitaries from the Ghana Health Service,President for sight of Africa,Dr Kofi Ghartey,core and executive members of the Ghana Vegetarian Association ,Civil Society Groups ,the Media and the General Public. The two days celebration also witnessed the exhibition of assorted vegetarian foods,drinks ,plant medicines and products which participants took  turn enjoy for at no cost and others sold are at a reduced rate for each participants to lay hands on when going home. Participants also had the chance to undergo free health screening exercise to screen their blood of cancer,stroke,asthma,hypertension,diabetes  and other  blood related diseases.
The 8th Annual Vegetarian week celebration was on the theme Go green, go Veg.
