Mother’s day celebration in Ghana can’t get better without observing or dancing to sonorous lively music performances by some renowned gospel artistes in church.
This has been the culture and the tradition adopted
by most Ghanaians over the years just to celebrate and honour our dear mothers for
the hardships they bear in bringing us up as children on mother’s day.
This year’s mother’s day celebration which was the biggest
in the history of Ghana was staged at Eastern Regional Capital Koforidua - Pentecost
Preparatory School Park on Sunday May 8 with over 1,200 celebrants in
attendance.
Christened as “My Mom & I -2016” was a
day-to-remember action-packed event which kicked-off exactly at 3pm with an array
of outstanding performances from top- notch Ghanaian cum Nigerian gospel music acts
like Rev. Nana Perbi, Ministers Igwe and Ebele who kept the entire atmosphere around
the venue fully charged leaving patrons with no choice to go home but to wait till
the end of the event.
Apart from the scintillating musical performances
which kept the venue musically ablaze non-stop for close to 5-hour, patrons were also made to imbibe some
inspirational and educational messages from Counselor and Life Coach, Nana
Hemaa Abrokwah and hosts of others who
graced the occasion.
Adding to that, the organizers of the event Nana
Perbi Foundation and REVNAP Consult has presented a citation to honor 200
retired teachers as well as deserving mothers currently working as teachers in
Koforidua Pentecost Preparatory School (PPS). They have also honored 70 best students who excelled
academically in school with various prizes.
Driven by the same passion of good will towards the students,
REVNAP Consult has also helped initiated a reading club in PPS, elected a leader to steer the affairs of the club so
as to inculcate reading habit in students of
PPPS whiles in school.
The organizers earlier conducted a clean-up exercise
a day before the actual event which saw the School library thoroughly clean-up including
books on shelves well arranged.
Rev. Nana Perbi, main event organizer could not hide
his magnanimity for the love of mothers presented a brand new 4G android mobile
phone to a lucky mother who was earlier accompanied by her daughter to the
venue to cushion her in life.
Meanwhile, Assistant
Headmaster of PPS, Elder Gabriel Amiteye
who could not hide his joy send a congratulatory whatsapp message to Rev. Nana
Perbi and his team which read: “Thank God for your life and Ministry REVNAP.
You and your team have done what nobody has ever done in the history of PPS.
May the Lord continue to give you strength to fulfill your God-given
mandate. Shalom, Peace and Life to you”.
Finally the event was climaxed with a buffet dinner
which saw over 1,200 patrons made up of mothers, widows, childless and
underprivileged women in attendance well fed at the Koforidua Church of
Pentecost–Old Estate Auditorium.
