SMOGA 1994/96 lauded for giving alma mater a facelift

The 1994/96 year group of St Mary’s Senior High School has received a remarkable commendation for giving a face-lift to the school which saw its gate at the dining hall and parts of the school walls around it impeccably renovated. The group which has produced an array of professionals and businesswomen of diverse expertise permeating all facets of life and scattered across the globe was equally extolled for giving back to the school in time of need including the successful co-hosting of the school’s 69th Speech and Prize-Giving day. Ghana joins the world to condemn the practice of FGM

The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP), Cynthia Mamle Morrison has charged all and sundry to do everything humanly possible to ensure that the gruesome act of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) which is being meted out to our women and children particularly young girls in the country be put to a permanent end. She averred that ending the “barbaric practice” in Ghana is the responsibility of all and sundry therefore the fight to eradicate it must be addressed holistically through a national crusade from the national to the community levels. “All of us should get involved and act in own small way towards ending the practice in Ghana”.
