Ghanaians observe light up campaign over SDGs
The streets of James town in Accra, on the eve of September 24, turned into huge sight of public attraction when 'light the way to a better world' campaign hit the road to usher Ghana into a new era of hope as it migrates from MDGs to the much awaited Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) expected to end poverty, inequality and climate change in the world. The symbolic event, which took a centre stage at the Lighthouse Square near James Town, attracted thousands of youth. The scenery night event kick started with burning of candles and later graduated into burning of woods interspersed with music, dancing and jubilation to climax the 'light up' campaign in demand for action from world leaders to light the way for a better world in their decision-making processes as the world crosses over to the SDGs.
