Nestle Nido nutrition day programme educates, rewards over 400 mothers

Good nutrition is the key to healthy lifestyle but unfortunately only few people  are fortunate to enjoy it's fruit due to a number of factors. One of such factors which is said to be a barrier to most people getting nourished in Ghana today can be  attributed to lack of knowledge. It is against this backdrop Nestle Ghana is poised to contribute to the healthier lives of individuals and families through its flagship programme dubbed "Nestle Ghana Nido Nutrition Day". Under this programme mothers and caregivers are sensitized on the importance of good nutrition through  series of talks, drama and games. It is organized with the endorsement of the Ghana Education Service and implemented under the supervision of the School Health Education Program(SHEP) in basic schools across  the country. Since it's inception 3 years ago,  The Nido Nutrition Day event  has significantly  impacted over 30,000 mothers with the requisite knowledge and skills...

Ghana is sitting on timebomb ready to explode with TB-NTP Boss

The  Manager for the National Tuberculosis Control Programme (NTP),  Dr Frank Adae Bonsu says Ghana is currently sitting on a time bomb ready to explode with tuberculosis silently killing many  people daily yet nothing concrete is being to combat the deadly disease. Dr Frank Adae Bonsu According him, many Ghanaians are dying everyday with majority of them being  women but unfortunately the sources of  TB transmission for most of  the cases are not even known.  He said it's time for all and sundry to rise up in oneness and embark on rigorous awareness  campaign towards total  elimination of tuberculosis in Ghana. Dr Bonsu  made this known at a press briefing in Accra on Wednesday March  15, to pre launch this year's commemoration of 2017 World TB Day which falls on March 24 , 2016.
