Gov’t should reduce taxes on electricity tariffs-ACEP
Gov't has been urged to as a matter of urgency fulfill its promise of removing taxes on electricity tariffs in order to bring immediate relief to households and industries in the country. The appeal was made by the Africa Centre for Energy Policy (ACEP, an energy policy think tank at a press conference in Accra on Thursday, January 19, 2016. ACEP’s Deputy Executive Director, Benjamin Boakye addressing the press noted the immediate removal of 17.5% by the ruling NPP gov’t would not only ease the burden of households but would go a long way to improve the cash flow of businesses and their productivity.
