The International Director of Full Gospel Fellowship of Churches for Africa, Bishop Jerry Sowah has observed it would take only Godly leaders to transform Ghana into a developed nation where the better future of the next generation of children can be secured. Battor Catholic Hospital launches mobile apps to fight cervical cancer

The Cervical Cancer Prevention and Training Centre (CCPTC) of the Battor Catholic Hospital in the Volta Region, in attempt to fight cervical cancer in the country has launched three mobile application softwares. The mobile apps which are CCPTC Mobile Colposcopy App, CCPTC Cervical Ablative Treatment App and CCPTC Colposcopy Report Sheet were specifically designed to aid health workers involved in cervical screening with Mobile Colposcopy (Enhanced Visual Inspection with Acetic acid) as well as those who undertake cervical (pre) cancer screening including treatment of patients with ablation (cryotherapy, thermal coagulation) in the country. Support training of family physicians - SOFPOG told government

The Africa Regional President for World Organization of Family Doctors (WONCA), Dr. Henry Lawson has called on government, the World Health Organization (WHO) and other International Organizations and funding agencies, NGOs and corporate organizations in the country to as matter of urgency help support training of Family Physicians in order to help improve healthcare delivery in the country. According to him, training more Family Physicians can help improve the chances of other medical doctors also getting trained to deliver on quality healthcare in the country. The move he noted would help also accelerate healthcare delivery or treatment of health problems in areas of care including pregnancy, delivery, infant care, adult and elderly care, acute and chronic health conditions, emergency care and mental health conditions among others. FDA, Police Swoop:12 illegal drug peddlers arrested at Ashiaman market

The Food and Drug Authority(FDA) in attempt to combat fake drugs in the country together with some personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department(CID) Headquarters of Ghana Police Service have embarked on swoop last Friday afternoon which saw a total of 12 illegal drug peddlers arrested at the Ashiaman market. The swoop led by the Head of Drug Market Surveillance of the FDA, Mr Vigil Prah-Ashun who swung into action around 12:30 pm at some vital points of the Ashiaman market where the exercise was conducted and arrested twelve (12) illegal drug peddlers. According Mr Prah-Ashun, the swoop on Ashiaman market has become necessary upon intelligence gathered which suggested it has gradually been turned into a hotbed for illicit drug peddlers hence the need to clamp on them. “We work based on intelligence. Four (4) top universities in the country namely KNUST, UCC, UEW and GIMPA have been declared winners in preliminary stage of the keenly contested Kuapa Kokoo Inter-Tertiary School Debate which came down last Monday at the British Council Auditorium in Accra. The competition, an initiative of the Millennium Promise Alliance Ghana and Kuapa Kokoo Limited in recognition of the 25th Anniversary of the Kuapa Kokoo Farmers Union saw eight (8) top Universities battle for honors at the preliminary stage of the Green Ghana Lecture Series inter-tertiary institutions debate. The SIC Ladies Association(SICLA) has organized a party to put smiles on the faces of the unfortunate children at the Royal Seed Orphanage last  Saturday April 21, 2018 when they paid visit to the orphanage to donate some relief items for the upkeep of the home. The ladies in the company of their President, Ms. Bernice Boachie including some executive members actually spent an ample time with the kids at the orphanage just to put smiles on their faces. They prepared a variety of mouth-watering dishes including Jollof Rice and Fufu which was served among every kid together with chilled soft drinks. Music for their dancing feet was at its peak and children danced and make merry throughout their time of stay.  The Ladies later donated  household supplies ranging from sanitary pads, baby showering gels, baby wipes, loaves of bread, bottles of cooking oils, used clothes, Nan baby Formula, baby clothes including food stuffs and more. SIC Ladies Presents Kia Spectra Saloon Car To Royal Seed Orphanage

Grace has found the founder of the Royal Seed Orphanage, Naomi Esi Amoah when she was handed over a Kia Spectra saloon car by the SIC Ladies Association(SICLA) at their recent visit to the  orphanage located at Bawjiase Papasi No.1 in the Central Region last Saturday April 21, 2018. President of SICLA, Bernice Boachie who made the presentation of the used 2002 model Kia Spectra saloon car on behalf of the women group to the founder of the orphanage said, “the move to donate the car was in response to a plea made to the association by the orphanage during their previous visit regarding a transportation need. In light of their plea, and upon previous visits, the association saw the urgent need to render their assistance to help meet the daily responsibilities of conveying the kids to and from school as as a quicker mode of access to hospitals for the newborn babies.
