Joseph Kobla Wemakor is my name. I’m an individual whose expertise spans across human rights advocacy, journalism, and social entrepreneurship. 

With a career deeply rooted in advocating for human rights, particularly in the context of his home country, Ghana, I have developed a multifaceted set of skills that enable me to engage effectively with various stakeholders, including NGOs, governmental organizations, and the media.

One of the key areas of my expertise lies in the field of journalism. As a seasoned journalist, I have honed my ability to report objectively, conduct investigative research, and craft compelling stories that bring awareness to crucial issues. 

This skill set is essential not only to inform the public but also to hold accountable those in positions of power. 

My journalistic endeavors have been geared toward shining a light on human rights violations and advocating for social justice.

In addition to my journalistic talents, my expertise extends to human rights advocacy. I boast of a profound understanding of the human rights landscape within Ghana and the broader West African region.

My experience advocating for the rights of marginalized communities gives me the capacity to navigate the complexities of intergovernmental policies and the operations of non-governmental organizations in the pursuit of equitable treatment and social justice for all citizens.

I believe my communication skills are particularly noteworthy. Effective advocacy requires the ability to present arguments persuasively, and I have consistently demonstrated this through public speaking, report writing, and multimedia campaigns. 

I have excelled at translating complex human rights issues into clear, concise messages that resonate with both local and international audiences.

As a social entrepreneur, I have shown innovation and leadership in initiating projects that address societal challenges. My approach often involves mobilizing resources and building networks that support sustainable development goals. 

My entrepreneurial spirit and strategic thinking enable me to craft solutions that not only address immediate concerns but also lay the groundwork for long-lasting impact within communities.

Furthermore, my expertise encompasses project management. My ability to oversee projects from inception to completion, including planning, budgeting, and evaluation, is crucial for the successful implementation of human rights initiatives.

My project management skills ensure that resources are utilized efficiently and objectives are met in a timely manner.

My commitment to human rights and social justice combined with my professional abilities all contributed to making me a valuable asset in the fight for equality and dignity for all.

Video: Saving lives, contributing to achieving SDGs; the success story of Human Rights Reporters Ghana

  In a bid to help end the kidnappings as well as the burgeoning human rights and social issues in Ghana and beyond, the Human Rights Reporters Ghana (HRRG) in 2019 embarked on a ‘Nationwide Sensitization Campaign on Kidnapping, Teenage, Pregnancy and Tramadol/Drug Abuse’ (KTT). The campaign, popularly known as the ‘KTT Project’, focused on addressing issues of kidnapping, teenage pregnancy and drug abuse but equally set about creating a deeper education on human rights to bring about a cultural change.
