Morgan International Community School celebrates Rev. Obed Danquah on his 58th birthday

Nothing could be more joyful and fulfilling than to be celebrated for your achievements while you’re still alive and kicking especially on your birthday than to be eulogized when you’re dead and gone.

This is exactly the kind of treatment Rev. Obed Danquah has received from the entire student body of Morgan International Community School(MICS) at Gomoa Manso in the Central Region last Wednesday August 28, 2018 on his 58th birthday.

Dubbed the “5th anniversary and founder’s day celebration of MICS”, was a special day earmarked by the school to celebrate its achievements since its inception 5 years ago.

It also coincided with yet another special day which marked the 58th birthday of the school’s founder, Rev. Obed Danquah therefore called for a massive celebration in his honor.

At a colorful ceremony organized by the school which was characterized by varieties of thrilling performances ranging from drama sketches by students, poetry recitals, sonorous music for the dancing feet amidst fun galore and jubilation, Rev. Obed Danquah was lifted high and celebrated to the admiration of all.

The highpoint of the ceremony witnessed cutting of the birthday cake and popping of champagne which gave way to unending toasting amidst heightened fun and jubilation but the thrill of the occasion came from various delightful messages poured by students which overwhelming eulogized the founder for his feats.

Hon. Boakye Yiadom Opoku, acting head of the school, expressing his utmost joy presented a citation on behalf of the entire school to honor Rev. Obed Danquah for his achievements as the school’s founding father.

While wishing him long life and prosperity in all his endeavors, he also prayed for God’s guidance, wisdom and blessings upon him, so as to forever keep the legacy of the school blazing eternally.
The ceremony also witnessed presentation of citation and cheque to some deserving teachers whose invaluable services, dedication and commitment has contributed towards the advancement of the school in the field of academic and in diverse ways.

The awards which came in various categories witnessed the Acting Head of the school’s Primary Division, Mr. Moses Antwi Amoamah, Ms. Felicia Arthur and Mr. Kwame Andoh recognized as the longest serving staffs while Mr. Bright Andoh was adjudged the school’s excellent performer under the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program(IBDP) category awards.

For the excellent performer in IDBP/IGCS English Literature awards category, Mr. Williams Adjei was declared the winner while Mr. Richard Oppong Asante was confirmed the excellent performer in IBDP Mathematics.

The rest include Mr. Anthony Abaidoo who was awarded with Hardworking and Excellent Result in IBDP/IGCSE Economics awards while Mr. Eric Owusu was declared the Best in Academic Performance and Excellent Result in IGCSE Physics and Mathematics.

To cap it all, some council members of Enriching Lives Ministries who graced the occasion also presented a birthday gift to Rev. Obed Danquah to wish him well, as well as evoke the blessings, grace and mercies of the almighty God upon him.
