In a bid to reach its members more effectively with timely information and updates, Friends of Coventry University in Ghana (Focus Ghana Chapter) has launched its website.
The website, which has been built with improved security modules, can be accessed at https://www.focusghanachapter.org and features News, Social Impact Projects, membership registration, etc.
Focus Ghana Chapter is the alumni association of the Coventry University in Ghana with a current membership of over 5,000.
Established in November 2016, the association seeks to build and maintain a mutually beneficial relationship between UK-based Coventry University and its alumni in Ghana.
At the launch last week, the association’s Vice President, Gilbert Nyavie, mentioned that the website positioned the association at a vantage point to obtain global recognition and also communicate easily and effectively with its members no matter the distance.
Also delivering a speech, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Suhum Constituency, Frederick Opare Ansah who is an alumni of the school, underscored the importance of information technology in promoting businesses and institutions as well as national development.
While commending Focus Ghana Chapter for the initiative, he called on other institutions in the country to utilize the web to expose themselves to global opportunities.
The Focus Ghana chapter website also offers easy and secured online payment system to all members and sponsors, including easy access to the association’s planned yearly calendar.
Meanwhile, the association has opened membership to all who acquired Coventry University degrees from the Ghana Technology University College (GTUC), Coventry Uni London campus and the main campus of Coventry University at Coventry.
