in Ghana, Kariz Enterprise, a non-governmental organization committed to ending
poverty in Ghana has organized its maiden seminar to sensitize, educate and
inculcate the spirit of entrepreneurship in the youth.
The 1-day sensitization forum dubbed “Youth
Enterprise Seminar & Drama, 2016 which saw over 100 youth across the
country in attendance took place in Accra at the GNAT hall on Saturday, August
27, 2016 on the theme: “Arise for Youth Enterprise Development in Ghana “.
Some of the topics participants were taken through include;
Youth Enterprise, its impact on the National Economy, Avenues of Youth
Enterprise, Need for Higher Education (Learning), Education and Youth
Enterprise in addition to showcase of a drama “fowl story from an inspirational
book titled Bawa Ali(novel), authored by
Kudzo Ahiabli Edem, the Chief Executive Officer of Kariz Enterprise.
Explaining the rationale behind the initiative in an
interview, CEO of Kariz Enterprise,Mr. Kudzo Edem Ahiabli bemoaned the rate at
which majority of Ghanaian youth are wallowing in abject poverty in recent time
due to lack of jobs, a situation he believes gov’t is doing his part but can’t solely handle without the support of
the private sector .
According to him, youth enterprise is the only way
to solve Ghana’s youth employment issues thereby creating more jobs for youth
and the future generations.
“13 years of writing Bawa Ali Novel has taught me
one fundamental lesson and that is, when we encourage or give ourselves the act
of youth enterprise, we can create more jobs in the overflow and to achieve
this fate, we need to give particular attention to technical and
entrepreneurial training for youths” said the young entrepreneur Edem Ahiabli”.
Young entrepreneur, an author
and a songwriter,Kudzo Edem Ahiabli who is passionate of changing the world by bringing
life, hope and glory to many children
around the country and beyond through his innovate ideas in the near
future shared his frustration about the
Ghanaian youth employment situation: “I used to think that there are
already-made jobs for all school leavers but I realized that it was actually
true in the days of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah hence many people today end up in
frustration when joblessness sets in”.
Kudzo has therefore challenged all youth in Ghana
especially those in schools to endeavor to think out of the box and create for
themselves a business(s) that will sustain them throughout entire lifetime
instead of relying on govt for jobs.
The event was organized by Karim Enterprise and
supported by Royal Dove Aluminum Systems, Ahiabli Furniture Works and Yiedie
Organization.
