Tema NDC Executives declares Unanimous Support for Bill Boglo-Hedo
Majority
of the Tema West Constituency Executives of the National Democratic
Congress (NDC) has declared support for the party’s parliamentary
aspirant, Bill Boglo-Hedo, ahead of the party’s presidential and
parliamentary primaries, calling on the youth in the area to strongly
back any move that will see him emerge as a winner.
The
die-hard NDC Constituency Executive members believe Bill Boglo-Hedo is
the party’s surest bet to lead the youth in parliament in 2016.
Executive
Secretary for Tema West Constituency, Police Station branch, Florence
Asabea, in an exclusive interview over the weekend said: “Bill is the
ultimate choice for the youth, a name on the lips of every youth within
the constituency as their next Parliamentary candidate to lead the party
to victory ahead of the presidential and parliamentary polls slated for
November, 7”.
Chairperson
of Tema West Constituency, Holy Child Nursery ‘B’ Sakumono ward, Cindy
Afriyie Dapaah, said: “Bill is coming with a new hope, a hope which is
lost in our Constituency for seven years, he’s bringing it to us so we
all need to rally behind him. We want to support him and equally urge
every youth to do so hoping by the grace of God he will take the seat
for us”.
She
revealed the youth are crying for a change of the party’s parliamentary
candidate, adding that Bill has the ability to deliver and rescue the
youth from the challenges of unemployment that confront them in the
constituency which the former parliamentary candidates have failed to
address.
“The
grass roots are crying, they say they are all fed up but when they saw
that Bill declared his intention to contest the primaries, their hopes
are revived because they claimed they’ve seen a new hope in Bill so
he’s the one and only person we are going to push for to win,” the
chairperson noted.
According
to Cindy Afriyie Daapah, the NDC lost the previous parliamentary
elections including the 2012 election due to lack of competency on part
of the former parliamentary candidates the party presented to contest
the parliamentary elections.
“Our
people need a competent person, someone who can be with us, someone
who the youth can trust and can easily call on in times of need and that
person is Bill, with him, the youth have hope,” she added.
Peter
Yao Siame, the Constituency Youth Coordinator, said that he believes
strongly it’s about time a young represented the party in the next
parliamentary elections.
“So
we’ve recognized that the whole youth in Tema West Constituency have
realized that Bill is the right person that can handle their issues for
them, someone who is easy to approach and someone who can attend to us
his constituents anytime we need him so we think he is the best person
to lead the us” he added.
They
were speaking at Weija SCC DVLA park in Accra after a two-hour health
walk event organized by the Obuobia Foundation to mark the birthday of
NDC’s 2012 parliamentary candidate for Weija-Gbawe Constituency.
In
a related development, the entire membership of Diplomatic Platform, an
NDC youth group, has also joined the Tema West NDC Constituency
Executives to declare unflinching support for Mr. Boglo-Hedo in his
quest to win the November 7 parliamentary primary.
The group assured him of its steady support after joining over 1,000 supporters of Mrs Darko-Opoku to mark her 38th birthday on Saturday.
